Faculty Member Program
Joint Research & Community Service
Joint Research & Community Service is a collaborative program involving both joint research and community service conducted by academic institutions and external partners, either at a national or international level. This program allows researchers from various institutions to work together on projects that focus on relevant scientific, social, or economic issues. Additionally, through community service, the outcomes of the research are directly implemented to benefit society at large. The program aims to strengthen inter-institutional relationships, enhance the quality of research, and provide direct contributions to community development through a research-based approach.
To strengthen international collaboration in health and community service, faculty and students from Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU), together with the Institute of Health Sciences, Timor Leste, organized a nutritional status assessment and education activity for police officers at the National Police Headquarters of Timor-Leste (PNTL). This activity is part of a community service program aimed at raising awareness and understanding of the importance of nutritional status, particularly among security personnel.
The event, held at the PNTL headquarters, received positive feedback from the participants. UEU faculty and students worked alongside local medical professionals to conduct health checks and provide education on the importance of a healthy diet to prevent various nutrition-related diseases. Plans are underway to continue the community service collaboration between UEU and the Institute of Health Sciences in 2025, with a focus on addressing stunting issues in the border areas between Indonesia and Timor-Leste, a major health concern in the region.
