Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU) is proud to announce the successful implementation of the 2024 Immersion Program, which took place from July 8th to July 13th, 2024. This program was the result of a collaboration with four prestigious universities from three countries: Chitkara University from India, Chodang University from South Korea, and Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna and Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao from the Philippines.

The 2024 Immersion Program carried the theme “The Melting Pot of Indonesia,” reflecting the diversity and richness of Indonesia as the host country. This theme embodies the spirit of showcasing Indonesia’s cultural wealth and strengthening international relations through education. The Immersion Program is an annual collaboration between Universitas Esa Unggul and various international universities.

This year, the event was attended by 20 participants, including 4 students from Chitkara University, 12 students from Chodang University, 1 student from Mapua Malayan Colleges Mindanao, and 3 students from Mapua Malayan Colleges Laguna. Over the course of one week, participants engaged in a variety of activities at Universitas Esa Unggul’s campus and around Jakarta. They also had the opportunity to visit and study at the university’s other campuses in Tangerang and Bekasi.

The Immersion event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Ari Pambudi, S.Kom, M.Kom, who delivered a warm and enthusiastic welcome speech. In his remarks, Ari Pambudi stated, “This program is an extraordinary opportunity for students to gain international experience, broaden their horizons, and build networks with peers from various countries. We hope that this event will provide significant benefits for all participants and strengthen the cooperative relationships between universities.”

During the program, participants were involved in various academic activities and Indonesian Language and Culture (BIPA) sessions at Universitas Esa Unggul, including angklung workshops, seminars, and tours of historical sites in Jakarta, such as Kota Tua, Istiqlal Mosque, and the Cathedral Church. International students were accompanied by International Student Buddies, who are active UEU students with overseas academic experience and fluency in foreign languages, particularly English. The International Office of Universitas Esa Unggul conducted a special selection and training for these Buddies to prepare a welcoming social and campus environment for foreign students.

Dr. Rilla Gantino, S.E., Ak., M.M., QRMP, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development, emphasized, “International experience is one of the aspects we always emphasize for the current generation, especially Esa Unggul University students. We believe that this experience is crucial to equipping them with the skills and global perspectives needed to face future challenges. Universitas Esa Unggul, powered by Arizona State University, is committed to becoming a world-class university by providing the best educational experiences.”

Lianda Rachmadany, S.Pd., M.A., Head of the Partnership Division of the International Office, added, “The role of International Student Buddies is vital in maintaining the good image of UEU and Indonesia as a warm and welcoming host. Their presence has a positive impact on international students and is expected to strengthen the ties between UEU and its international partner universities, as well as open up wider opportunities for collaboration in the future.”

The success of the 2024 Immersion Program cannot be separated from the hard work and dedication of all parties involved, both from Universitas Esa Unggul and international partner universities. Participants gave positive feedback about the program, stating that they gained valuable experiences and formed new friendships.

Universitas Esa Unggul remains committed to enhancing the quality of education and providing a profound learning experience for students, both domestic and international. The success of the 2024 Immersion Program is a tangible proof of these efforts.

Congratulations to all participants, the organizing committee, and the International Office of Universitas Esa Unggul for the achievements. May this event bring significant benefits to all parties involved.
