An impactful academic visit took place at Universitas Esa Unggul (UEU) with the presence of Mr. Jeremy Paul Gecolea, PhD (JP), from Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna. Over the course of five days, this event brought forth a series of inspiring activities.

Mr. JP was warmly welcomed by the UEU leadership team, including the vice-rector, deans, and heads of the Faculty of Economics and Business, during the initial introduction meeting. A campus tour involving various facilities, such as studios, physiotherapy clinics, cafeterias, and mosques, provided a comprehensive overview of UEU campus life. A shared dinner concluded the enjoyable first day.

The focus of the visit centered on meetings with the UEU Faculty of Economics and Business, themed “Explore The Potential of Research Collaboration.” Mr. JP’s lecture on “Information System Management” provided deep insights to the participants. The academic sessions continued with a series of lectures on intriguing topics such as “Change Management,” “Operation Management,” and “Human Resource Management.” The learning experience also involved a Global Signature Course themed “HR Development and Empowerment,” attended by UEU students offline and Mapúa students online.

After a series of academic activities, moments of togetherness were held with the economics and business faculty, strengthening the relationship between the two institutions. Visits to the Galeri Indonesia Kaya and a tour around Jakarta to iconic places such as Monas, the Cathedral, and Lapangan Banteng added an unforgettable cultural touch.

The last day was filled with a discussion on “Explore The Potential of Research Collaboration,” followed by a lunch together at Mall Grand Indonesia and a visit to Thamrin City for souvenir shopping. With a positive spirit, the international affairs office team accompanied Mr. JP to the airport, marking the end of a visit that blended academic, cultural, and promising collaboration opportunities for the future.
